Habu provides this construction map for anyone interested in his Clint Folsom “Death . . .” series on the promiscuous NYPD detective who roves far and wide. The series is half published now.

Death to Innocence is the prequel to the Detective Clint Folsom murder mysteries and a ‘must read’ for fans of the author or the series (Death on the Rhine, Death in Eden, Death in Key West, Death in the Rockies, and Death in Hollywood). Clint’s sexual awakening and the life events which shape his future are portrayed with an often disturbing eroticism. Habu’s handling of taboo themes such as older men lusting after the not quite 18 yo Clint and incest are so enticing that one can’t help but lust right along with the perpetrators. This is something Habu always does just right; make the bad seem so good! In this story, the reader comes to understand what it is about Clint that no dominant gay man can resist in all future parts of the series. His love of being ‘topped’ is so ingrained within his being that each sex act is with an abandon and longing that makes men ‘feel like kings’. If you weren’t a ‘sub’ before, you would wish to be one by the end of the book. Once I finished reading it, I rushed to buy the rest of the Clint Folsom series. Hot Stuff!

In January 2012, habu expects to release a two-volume compendium of the whole collection (through BarbarianSpy) that will add two books—-the story of losing his first partner, Brad (Death in Manhattan, coming before Death on the Rhine), and a final mystery, Death to the Past—on what’s happening with Clint’s current lover.

Habu reports that he enjoyed writing this series. His premise was a no-holds-barred treatment of an unabashedly promiscuous, laid-back, “good-guy” homicide cop with movie-star looks (Death of Innocence introduces the movie-star connection).

Death on the Rhine (eXcessica, May 2008), in which Folsom follows the killer of his lover to a GM cruise tour on the Rhine River in Germany, from Nuremburg to Amsterdam.

Death in Eden

(eXcessica, September 2008), in which Folsom goes to a wealthy hunt club suburb of Washington, D.C., at the request of a former lover to, his former lover hopes, white wash the murder of a former Mafia sex-torture assassin.

Death in Key West (eXcessica, September 2009), with Folsom, while in Florida visiting a movie producer who had been his first lover, stumbling into a murder mystery.

Death in the Rockies (eXcessica, June 2011). Sent to a gay dude ranch in the Colorado Rockies, Folsom works to keep the lid on two New York crime families trying to even the score for mutual murders.

Death of Innocence, (eXcessica, Sept 2011) which is a prequel mystery on Folsom’s background and how he got to be the way he is.

Death in Hollywood, ( eXcessica, October 2011, ) This release picks up on the current chronology.
